    Description

Presented is a fine quality English Georgian sterling silver vinaigrette. This piece dates to 1814, and was made by Samuel Pemberton. The exterior of the box is nicely hand engraved with leaf and cross hatch designs. The interior has a gold wash. The grill of the vinaigrette is pierced with a flower design, surrounded by diamond shapes.
The box is in great overall condition. There is an old solder repair to both the exterior hinge of the lid and the interior hinge of the grill, but these are well done and quite hard to notice. Otherwise there are no issues, no splits, no breaks, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
This piece is hallmarked on the interior of the lid with the lion passant for sterling silver, the King George III head duty mark, and the maker's mark for Samuel Pemberton. The bottom interior is hallmarked with the anchor for the city of Birmingham, the date letter Q for 1814.
The box has approximate dimensions of 7/8 by 1/2 by 3/8 of an inch.
    The box weighs 6.0 grams.
